&lt;p&gt;The Copa America 2024 passes to the quarter-finals after &lt;a href=&#34;https://www.legaseriea.it/en/media/altro/the-curtain-rises-on-the-2024-copa-america-710890b&#34;&gt;an entertaining group stage&lt;/a&gt; full of surprises, starting with the hosts, the USA, being eliminated and Venezuela’s three wins in all three Group B games. It all went as planned for Scaloni’s Argentina who were spurred on by an unstoppable &lt;strong&gt;Lautaro Martinez&lt;/strong&gt;. On the other hand, Brazil had some issues and finished second in their group.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Many Serie A players have been involved with &lt;strong&gt;6 goals&lt;/strong&gt; being scored by players from our league at this stage. With the quarter-finals at our door and the competition reduced to 8 sides, there are still &lt;strong&gt;13 adopted Italians &lt;/strong&gt;in the tournament.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;GROUP A&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Argentina&lt;/strong&gt; didn’t disappoint and were the first team to qualify for the quarter-finals, winning their group with the maximum points tally, helped out by &lt;strong&gt;Lautaro Martinez&lt;/strong&gt;’s goals, current &lt;strong&gt;top goalscorer&lt;/strong&gt; at the competition with 4 goals. El Toro doubled the Albiceleste lead in his debut at the end of the game against Canada and he scored the decisive goal against Chile moments before the final whistle, once again coming off the bench. Qualification was secured against Peru, Martinez started the game and bagged a &lt;strong&gt;brace&lt;/strong&gt;, thus scoring in every group game for an incredible average of a goal once every 40 minutes. Also called into action by Head Coach Scaloni were &lt;strong&gt;Paredes&lt;/strong&gt; who started two of the three games, missing a penalty against Peru; &lt;strong&gt;Nico Gonzalez&lt;/strong&gt; started against Chile and came on against Peru; and ex-Monza player &lt;strong&gt;Valentin Carboni&lt;/strong&gt; played 13 minutes of the last game.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;figure data-asset-id=&#34;78829ed1-8adf-473f-8b64-4a8c1c9df397&#34; data-image-id=&#34;78829ed1-8adf-473f-8b64-4a8c1c9df397&#34;&gt;&lt;img src=&#34;https://assets-eu-01.kc-usercontent.com:443/6be6dbcf-fd70-012d-ec80-2d3245f5ce6a/c760d94d-42e2-4965-a20b-472519f5501c/Sito_HERO_argentina.jpg&#34; data-asset-id=&#34;78829ed1-8adf-473f-8b64-4a8c1c9df397&#34; data-image-id=&#34;78829ed1-8adf-473f-8b64-4a8c1c9df397&#34; alt=&#34;&#34;&gt;&lt;/figure&gt;&lt;p&gt;Peru went out having only won 2 points, &lt;strong&gt;Lapadula&lt;/strong&gt; walks away goalless despite starting two games and coming off the bench against Argentina for the last 30 minutes.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Canada&lt;/strong&gt; go through to the next round after their defeat to the reigning champions in the opening game but beating the Blanquirroja and securing qualification against Chile. &lt;strong&gt;Buchanan&lt;/strong&gt; (Inter) started the first game and came on as a substitute in the next two. The Copa America campaign ends here for Chile and Sanchez.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;GROUP B&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Two Serie A defenders shone in Group B, both of them playing all 270 minutes of the group stage but meeting very different endings with their respective sides.
