Genoa vs. Monza to bring matchday 22 to an end

After Venezia vs. Verona, another relegation six-pointer awaits

Matchday 22 in Serie A Enilive will come to an end with a clash between Genoa and Monza at the Luigi Ferraris.

Following their defeat to Roma, which put an end to a three-game unbeaten run, Genoa are aiming to move clear of the lower echelons of the table.

Monza, who continue to prop up the table, can’t afford to lose further ground in the fight for survival.

HEAD TO HEAD

After losing both matches last season against Monza (0-1 at the U-Power Stadium and 2-3 in the reverse fixture at Ferraris), Genoa won the most recent game against the Brianza team in Serie A (1-0 away, last 24th August, courtesy of a goal by Andrea Pinamonti).

The balance in the last six matches between Genoa and Monza between Serie A and Serie B is equal (three wins for each side), while in the previous 37 matches between the two teams in these competitions the Grifone have avoided defeat 35 times (W22 D13).

Genoa have avoided defeat in 20 of their 21 home matches against Monza between Serie A and Serie B (W16 D4); however, the only victory for the Brianza team away against Grifone came in the most recent such game, last March (3-2 with goals from Matteo Pessina, Dany Mota and Daniel Maldini for the Lombards).
