&lt;p&gt;League leaders Atalanta are set to face Cagliari in Sardinia at 15:00 CET this afternoon.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Sardinians need points in the battle to avoid the drop and want to bounce back after their defeat to Fiorentina, a result that put an end to a three-game unbeaten run that saw them pick up five points.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Meanwhile, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have recorded nine consecutive wins and want to maintain their place at the top of the Serie A Enilive standings.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;HEAD TO HEAD&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In the last two Serie A campaigns in which they have faced each other, Atalanta and Cagliari have both won &amp;nbsp;a game apiece. In general, Bergamaschi and Sardi last drew in the league in January 2013 (1-1 in Bergamo) – since then, 10 Atalanta wins and 8 Cagliari wins.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;After a streak of four away wins in a row for Atalanta, Cagliari won in their last home game against the Nerazzurri in Serie A (2-1 in April). The last time the Sardinians collected two home wins in a row against the Nerazzurri in the competition was between 2016 and 2018.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;DID YOU KNOW?&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This is only the second time that Atalanta have sat at the top of the table at the end of a Serie A matchday since the competition returned to 20 teams (from 2004/05), having only managed to do so after the fifth matchday in 2022/23 (13 points in that case). In general, the Bergamo side had never led the top flight table after the first 15 games played in their history.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Cagliari have gained one more point (14 vs 13) than in the first 15 games of last season, while Atalanta have 11 more than in the last campaign (34 vs 23) and with 34 points collected so far, have established their new record after the first 15 games played of a Serie A season.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If Atalanta win this match, they would establish their new all-time record for consecutive wins in Serie A: for now they are have recorded nine wins in a row, as already happened between February and July 2020.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;PLAYERS&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Roberto Piccoli grew up in the Atalanta youth academy and made his Serie A debut for the Nerazzurri (April 15, 2019 against Empoli)&amp;nbsp;–&amp;nbsp;in the three previous matches (three defeats) against the Bergamo side in the top flight he has scored a goal, in the first clash, for Spezia in March 2021.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Ademola Lookman&amp;nbsp;–&amp;nbsp;who in the two previous matches against Cagliari in the top league has scored a goal (at home) and made an assist (away)&amp;nbsp;–&amp;nbsp;is close to been directly involved in 50 goals in Serie A (49 so far, thanks to 32 goals and 17 assists).
