Holocaust Remembrance Day is an international anniversary celebrated each year on 27 January as a day to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust. The date commemorates the day in 1945 when the gates of the Auschwitz concentration camp were torn down, marking the end of humanity's most unspeakable barbarity. To keep the Memory alive and to cultivate the hope for the future of new generations it is crucial to remember the extermination of the Jewish people and the victims of Nazism and Fascism. With this spirit, UNAR - the Anti-Racial Discrimination Office of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - and Serie A are preparing to celebrate Memorial Day together.

"Football has an extraordinary social value and it is important that it can contribute to keep the memory alive and transmit to the new generations the memory of one of the greatest tragedies of mankind - said Lega Serie A President Lorenzo Casini -. The recent agreement signed with the Ministry of Education is aimed at using our sport as an instrument to spread valuable messages among children. "We Remember, every day", is the claim that will be present in the TV graphics broadcasted in the pre-match of all the matches of the 20th Championship Round, at the same time our communication channels will focus their attention on the Memorial Day, because the victims of one of the darkest pages of history should never be forgotten".
